BANGALORE: The senior National aquatics championship scheduled to be held at Thrissur from October 4 to 9, has been postponed. Stating this here on Thursday, T.D. Vijayaraghavan, the vice-president of the Swimming Federation of India said that the meet will now be held from December 13 to 18, Vijayaraghavan said the meet had to be re-scheduled as the organisers had expressed their inability to hold it in October first week due to lack of accommodation for participating teams in Thrissur, as the dates clashed with a government function there. Vijayaraghavan ruled out change in dates of other major meets including the School Games Federation of India's meet, scheduled to be held in Banglaore in November. The SFI official, however, admitted that there would be some delay regarding selection of Indian squads for the SAF Games and Commonwealth Games in 2006, due to a change in the Senior National dates. — Special Correspondent
