RAJAHMUNDRY: The Joint Collector of East Godavari district, who conducted an enquiry into the incidents of lathicharge on September 25th in Samalkot during the re-poll in a municipal ward, in which Peddapuram MLA was injured, is going to submit his report to the district Collector and Election officer on Sunday. Speaking to The Hindu , Dana Kishore, Joint Collector said that he met Peddapuram MLA Thota Gopalakrishna at his Kirlampudi residence and recorded the statement. He said that he had almost completed enquiry by Friday evening but he will give report only on Sunday, as he has to rush to Tuni on Friday to conduct Municipal Chairperson's election. Meanwhile, the resignation of the MLA in protest against the alleged police excess was kept in abeyance by the Chief Minister as well as the Speaker.
