BANGALORE: Although Justice N.K. Mukherji Commission is yet to complete its inquiry into the death of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has demanded another probe into the Soviet Union angle into his disappearance. BJP Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu wants the death of the former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri in Tashkent in January 1966 included in that probe. He wanted the setting up of an inquiry commission with a Supreme Court judge to probe the revelation "that the erstwhile Soviet Union's intelligence agency KGB funded the Congress and Communist Party leaders." Mr. Naidu, who spoke on "the Mitrokhin Archive II: The KGB and the World" at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan here, said revelations made in the report are shocking and are an affront to the conscience of every patriotic Indian. The BJP leaders have sent a letter to Prime Minister to order a probe into the allegations but no response has come so far.
