Assistance to SC families given

PONDICHERRY: The Local Administration Minister, A. Elumalai, distributed on Friday Rs 10,000 to each of 37 poor Scheduled Caste families under a scheme of the Department of Adi Dravidar Welfare to enable the beneficiaries to meet part of expenditure incurred for the celebration of marriages of the girls in the families. He later told presspersons that the Administration was keen on promoting the welfare of the have-nots and also the downtrodden. He referred to the schemes implemented for the wellbeing of the Scheduled Castes.
