CHENNAI: : The second batch of sub-inspectors and executive trainees of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), who underwent rigorous training for 53 weeks, took part in the ceremonial passing-out parade held at the Recruit Training Centre, Arakkonam, on Friday. S.I.S. Ahmed, Director-General, CISF, who took the salute, explained how the CISF expanded from an industrial security force to the one discharging multi-dimensional tasks. Its services would be expanded to other areas soon. About 4,000 cadets, who passed out at Arakkonam and Hyderabad, would join the 94, 000 personnel across the country, he said. While those in Hyderabad were trained in disaster management, the Arakkonam trainees specialised in the management of disaster caused by nuclear weapons.
Awards for toppers
Mr. Ahmed presented awards to the toppers in the training. Sunit Kumar Sharma from Uttar Pradesh emerged as the best all rounder and Navneet Nischal as the best in indoor activities. While R.S.Bhati was adjudged the best in drill, Mahendra Kumar came first in physical training and Rohit Kumar in firing. The cadets were trained in indoor and outdoor activities, including operational management and internal security duties. A men's hostel of Sixth Reserve Battalion of the CISF was also inaugurated. Four hundred saplings were planted on the campus.
