NEW DELHI: A 45-year-old woman has been arrested by the Special Staff of the South Delhi police for allegedly getting her son killed by her son-in-law. The son-in-law has also been arrested. The Special Staff, led by Inspector Rajender Singh, was investigating the murder of an unidentified man, whose body had been found at Sarita Vihar in South Delhi on December 10, 2003. Both the legs of the deceased were amputated and his throat was slit with a sharp-edged weapon. After about 18 months, his identity was established as Anand, aged around 30, a resident of Sangam Vihar and a native of Uttar Pradesh. Following further investigations, the police arrested Anand's mother, Gudia, and the husband of his youngest sister, Dinesh Kumar, on Thursday. The weapon of offence allegedly used in crime has also been recovered. The police said Anand's father had disappeared about 10 years ago under mysterious circumstances after which his mother had established relations with another man. Anand held his mother responsible for his father's disappearance. He also used to consume liquor and beat up his mother. Three years ago, Anand lost both his legs in a train accident. He continued to consume alcohol and ill-treat his mother. Annoyed by his behaviour, his mother took him to Bhairon Mandir and abandoned him. Meanwhile, Dinesh was also annoyed with Anand as he would demand money from him after consuming alcohol. Gudia and Dinesh discussed the problem and decided to eliminate Anand. On December 10, as per plan, Dinesh reached the temple in his autorickshaw and told Anand that he had come to take him back. When Anand got inside the autorickshaw, Dinesh took the vehicle to Sarita Vihar where he slit his throat on a desolate stretch.
