BIDAR: "DataOne broadband services will be launched in Bidar before December. Preparations are on in this regard. We are waiting for some equipment. The moment we receive them, we will launch the services," Bidar Telecom District Manager J. Ravichandra said here on Saturday. He noted that there is a significant market for broadband services in Bidar. There are three engineering colleges in the district and over five institutions offering technical courses. They can be our potential customers. There is also considerable market among domestic customers, he said. A new post-paid plan for BSNL mobile service will be offered to employees of State and Union governments, he said. Employees can avail themselves of mobile service for Rs. 100. They need not pay any deposit. They have to submit their last salary slip, employee identity card and address proof, he added. Mr. Ravichandra said 18 mobile towers (base transmitting stations) will be set up in Bidar district. Of them, four will come up in Bidar to provide better service to mobile phone users in the city. The wireless in local loop service towers will be set up in four other places, he said and added that the tower in Basava Kalyan will be inaugurated in a month. A new post paid-Internet service will be provided in a month. Telephone adalats will be held in Bidar next month, he said. Customers can participate in them with written complaints.
