GULBARGA: The alumni meet of Mahadevappa Rampure Medical College will be held here on November 26 and 27. Disclosing this to presspersons here, P.S. Shankar, chief advisor to the organising committee, and Mallikarjun Bhandari, chairman of the organising committee, noted that the alumni meet of the college was held in Bangalore in 2001 and in Pune in 2002. Dr. Shankar said the college established in 1963 has produced over 5,500 medical graduates and over 1,000 postgraduates so far. The alumni of the college are working in prestigious institutions all over the country and aboard, and many of them are specialists in different disciplines of medicine, including cardiovascular surgery, neurology, cardiology, nephrology, urology and the like. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and chief advisor to the Andhra Pradesh Government Ramachandra Rao are among the political leaders who are alumni of the college. Dr. Shankar said Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy and Dr. Ramachandra Rao have agreed to participate in the alumni meet. Besides bringing out a souvenir to mark the occasion, Dr. Shankar said scientific sessions on recent advances in different disciplines will be held during the two-day alumni meet, which will give an opportunity to the alumni to share their experience.
