Wayanad in last eight

KOTTAKKAL: Holder Wayanad beat Thiruvananthapuram 25-4, 25-10, 25-14 and topped Pool `A' to enter the girls' quarterfinals of the State sub-junior volleyball championship here on Saturday night. Thiruvanthapuram, however, also made the grade, as did Kozhikode, from Pool `B'.

The results (preliminary league):

Girls: Pool `A': Wayanad bt Thiruvananthapuram 25-4, 25-10, 25-14. Pool `B': Kozhikode bt Alappuzha 25-5, 25-8, 15-17.
