MYSORE: In a bid to make Dasara 2005 a successful event and a memorable experience for tourists, the organisers are leaving no stone unturned and will now involve the stakeholders and launch certain "tourist-friendly measures". The Mysore City Corporation has urged those involved in the tourism and hospitality industry to be more courteous to the visitors and go out of their way to make their (the tourists') visit a memorable one. Likewise, tours and travel operators, autorickshaw drivers, businessmen and shopowners have been directed to display exemplary behaviour with the tourists and provide them correct information on request. The business establishments have been directed to keep the environment around their respective areas clean and hotels have been given strict instructions to maintain quality in service. The attention of the commercial establishments has been drawn to special facilities and discounts extended to the Dasara Gold cardholders and all stakeholders have been urged to be fully abreast of the concept and provide suitable information on request to the tourists. The Corporation Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim has issued an eight-point charter and circulated it to the stakeholders. He has urged them to uphold the culture and traditions of Mysore and ensure that the tourists return with a memorable experience. The objective of the tourist-friendly measure is to facilitate their repeat returns to the city, which will help boost tourism sector.
