Dividend for Kendriya Bhandar shareholders

NEW DELHI: Kendriya Bhandar has declared a 30 per cent dividend for shareholders for the year 2004-05 at its annual general meeting held here over the weekend.

According to a spokesman, the organisation recorded an all-time high sales turnover of Rs. 351.12 crores and a record profit of Rs. 9.72 crores during the year.

The Chairman, S. P. Tyagi, the Managing Director, Jagdeesh Bhatia, and other directors attended the AGM.

Blood Donation Day

NEW DELHI: The Indian Society of Blood Transfusion and Immuno Haematology (ISBTI) organised an awareness campaign for the public on Saturday, observed as National Voluntary Blood Donation Day.

Mass rallies with banners and posters, quiz and contest were organised by ISBTI's chapters.

Song-and-dance show

NEW DELHI: DLF City Centre Mall in Association with Sony Entertainment Television has organised an evening with two of the Fame Gurukul finalists on October 2 at 6-30 p.m. onward. The two finalists will interact and put on a special song-and-dance performance for the crowd.

Adding to the excitement will be an emcee who will engage the crowd in various interactive games.

Health Mela

NEW DELHI: The Seventh Annual Health Mela was inaugurated by Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit at Talkatora Garden here on Saturday. The mela will conclude on Sunday.

Addressing the gathering, Ms Dikshit -- who was accompanied by her Cabinet colleague, A.K. Walia -- said having witnessed all the previous editions of the mela organised by the Delhi Diabetes Research Centre she shad realised that it was a good way of creating awareness about diabetes.

Environment rally

NEW DELHI: Bal Bhavan Public School, Mayur Vihar, organised a public awareness rally on environment on Saturday. Flagged off by the Principal, B.B.Gupta, over 300 students participated in the rally.

Aimed at increasing local participation in environment conservation, from depletion of the ozone layer to use of CNG, the rally also saw a street play being staged to create awareness.

NDMC employees felicitated

NEW DELHI: The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) felicitated 12 of its employees on Saturday for their excellent performance in day-to-day work of the Council.

Those felicitated with the Palika Vishisht Puraskar include assistant fire officer Sajjan Kumar, stenographer Jitender Kumar, junior engineer C.S.Jandu and craft teacher Vandana Shukla. The Vibhagiya Sewa Protsahan Puraskar was conferred on Prem Lata, Alok Bhatnagar, Dinesh Kumar Sharma, Puran Singh, Ahmad Kamal, Shiv Singh, S.C.Narang and Om Prakash.
