NEW DELHI: The Delhi Development Authority on Saturday said it had nothing to do with the death of a woman at the Rajiv Camp slum cluster on Friday as she died in an accident while retrieving some material from the site where DDA had earlier carried out a demolition. The Authority said it had been directed by Delhi High Court last month to remove the slum clusters at Rajiv Camp and Ambedkar Camp in Mayur Vihar Phase I within 15 days. Subsequently a demolition programme was fixed for September 27, which was later rescheduled to September 30 at the request of the jhuggi dwellers who wanted some more time for removing their belongings. Thereafter, DDA said, the demolition programme was actually carried out on September 30 in which both the camps were removed with the help of the Delhi police. In all, 431 jhuggis were removed in the drive. After the jhuggis had been demolished at Rajiv Camp and its men and machineries had left for work at the other site, DDA said it was reported that a woman suffered injuries in an accident while she was retrieving some material from the site where demolition had taken place.
