Power cut

CHENNAI: Power supply will be suspended in Annapillai 3rd and 4th Streets, PKG 5th and 6th Street and Walltax in Kondithope between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday.

Energy theft

The Chennai/Central Enforcement Squad of Chennai Enforcement Division detected a case of energy theft by direct tapping at T.Nagar. The consumer is paying the provisional assessment amount towards the loss sustained by the Electricity Board in instalments. . Hospital premises cleaned

The NCC Unit of the Sir Theagaraya College conducted a social work camp at the Little Stanley or Governement Peripheral Hospital on Thursday and Friday. About 54 cadets cleaned the premises under the supervision of CSUO P. Mohan Kumar.

Museum closed

The Government Museum and National Art Gallery will remain closed on Sunday on account of Gandhi jayanthi.

Temple closed for worship

Sri Veeraghava Swamy Temple, Tiuvallur, will be closed for public worship on Monday between 3.30 and 7.30 p.m. on account of the solar eclipse.

Isha Yoga

Corporation worker falls to death

A temporary worker of the Chennai Corporation fell to death from a hydraulic lift on Friday night when he was overhauling streetlights on Rajaji Salai.

Sources said G.Sekar, 30, died of injuries when he fell down around 7.30 p.m. near Island Grounds. The truck fitted with the hydraulic lift moved from one lamp post to another with the ladder in an inclined position. The worker was struck by a tree branch and fell to death. Office-bearers of Chennai Corporation Red Flag Union have blamed the civic agency for not properly maintaining its vehicles.
