BANGALORE: A four-member gang murdered a realtor on Rajarajeshwari Temple Street in K.R. Puram police station limits on Friday night. According to the police, the victim, Dayanand (37), had gone out with his friend, Satish, on Friday evening for a party. After consuming alcohol he returned to his house at Devasandra around 7.30 p.m. Then, another friend Nanda picked him up for another party. For this party, the two were joined by their friends Shekar and Suri, and they partied till 11 p.m. Dayanand, who was heavily drunk, and Shekar got into the car of Suri, who dropped them on Rajarajeshwari Temple Street. Nanda followed the car on his motorcycle. Soon after Suri left the place, the four-member gang attacked Dayanand with machetes and swords. Shekar ran away from the place. Nanda who went to save Dayanand was also attacked. Dayanand died on the spot.
Gets bail
The 4th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate on Saturday granted bail to J.V. Venkatakrishna, a director of Viniv Inc. Judge B.E. Buthe granted bail to Venkatakrishna, first among the directors to surrender to the Central police, as the police failed to file the charge sheet within the prescribed time.
