IMA honours blood donors

KOCHI: The Indian Medical Association honoured blood donors in various categories at a State-level function here on Sunday. The celebrations were inaugurated by Kerala High Court judge A.K. Basheer. IMA State president Joseph Mani presided.

K.A. Bhat, T.D. Road, Ernakulam, and Venkita Subramanium N.A., SBT, Panampilly Nagar, were honoured for donating 42 and 41 units of bloods respectively till date. Tarun J. Veetil, Panampilly Nagar, was honoured for donating 22 units of blood in the last four years.

The rolling trophies for mobilising people to donate blood went to All Kerala Bank Employees Federation in the industrial establishments category, DYFI Ambalamedu regional committee in the clubs and organisations category and BPC College, Piravom, in the educational institutions category.

Awards were given to 15 individual members for donating blood and 15 voluntary organisations for organising blood donation camps.
