CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at a few places over Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over Rayalaseema and Kerala. Dry weather prevailed over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Lakshadweep and coastal Karnataka. Papireddipatti (Dharmapuri dt) and Tirupur recorded a heavy rainfall of 9 and 7 centimetres respectively. The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimeters are: Salem and Chennapatna (Bangalore Rural dt) 6 each, Denkanikottai (Krishnagiri dt), Sivgangai, Chatrapatti and Sholavandan (both Madurai dt) and Nilakottai (Dindigul dt) 5 each, Tiruvannamalai, Yercaud, Lalgudi (Tiruchirapalli dt), Sivakasi (Virudhunagar dt), Palani and Natham (both Dindugul dt) and Rabkhavi (Bagalkote dt) 4 each, Thozhudur (Cuddalore dt), Sankarapuram (Villupuram dt), Paramakudi (Ramanathapuram dt), Ambur and Vaniyambadi (both Vellore dt), Harur (Dharmapuri dt), Thalli and Royakottai (both Krishnagiri dt), Omalur (Salem dt), Pollachi (Coimbatore dt), Thogaimalai (Karur dt), Pullambadi (Tiruchirapalli dt), Madurai, Vadipatti (Madurai dt), Hassan, Bangarpet (Kolar dt) and Yelahanka 3 each.
