ALAPPUZHA: CPI(M) Alappuzha district committee member P.P. Chitharanjan is likely to become the chairman of Alappuzha municipality. R. Nazar of the CPI(M) who won from Mararikkulam division to the district panchayat council is likely to become the Alappuzha district panchayat president. T.P. Mangalamma of the CPI (M) will be the new vice-chairman of the Alappuzha district panchayat. She was elected from the Kanjikkuzhy division. Their names are learnt to have been cleared by the CPI (M) State committee. The official announcement is likely on Wednesday.
