Mamu Koya elected Congress council party leader

KOZHIKODE: P.K. Mamu Koya has been elected leader of the Congress party in Kozhikode Corporation Council. The election was held at a meeting attended by KPCC vice-president Mullappally Ramachandran, KPCC general secretary Benny Behnan and DCC president M. Veerankutty.

KPCC vice-president Kadannappally Ramachandran remarked at the meeting it was through "opportunistic and unholy political alliances" that the CPI(M) achieved success in a few places in the recent elections to local bodies.

The meeting also analysed the results of the election results. Mr. Ramachandran and other Congress leaders alleged that the BJP and LDF had entered into "poll adjustments" in a number of grama panchayats in Kozhikode districts. It was decided to convene block - level meetings of party workers on October 8, 9 and 10 for detailed discussions of election results. DCC president M.Veerankutty , KPCC general secretary Benny Behanan, senior leaders N.P. Moideen, P.M. Suresh Babu, P.K. Mamu Koya also spoke.
