Repair bridge

The bridge between Arapalayam and Aruldosspuram is much used by the public from north to reach Arapalayam bus stand. Now, the condition of the bridge is bad. The bridge is unfit for road-users, as it is full of potholes, obstructing free flow of traffic.

Besides, a number of accidents occur on the bridge.

Two-wheelers and tri-wheelers find it difficult to ride on the bridge and often meet with accidents.

The authorities concerned should take steps to repair the bridge and make it fit for use by motorists without delay.

Direct bus service

Alagarkovil is an important pilgrimage spot in Madurai. But there is no direct bus service from Arapalayam bus stand.

The people coming from western region to visit the pilgrim centre have to board another bus to Periyar bus stand and board a bus to Alagarkovil.

Those with children, ladies and old people find it inconvenient.

Direct and frequent bus service should be introduced from Arapalayam to Alagarkovil for the benefit of pilgrims coming from other districts.
