THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Wednesday convened a meeting of top officials here to discuss the particulars of the agreement the Government proposes to sign with the Dubai Internet City (DIC) on the Smart City project. The DIC representatives were in Kochi on Tuesday for discussions with the Government officials prior to drafting the agreement. The officials briefed the Chief Minister about the position taken by the DIC on the clauses to be included in the agreement. Finance Minister Vakkom Purushothaman and Minister for Legal Affairs K.M. Mani too attended the meeting. The meeting covered the formalities involved in the transfer of 100 acres of land belonging to the Kerala State Electricity Board in the suburbs of Kochi free of cost to the joint venture company being floated by the DIC and the State Government for setting up the Smart City. Appointing a legal consultant to advise the Government on the agreement was another subject discussed, Information Technology secretary has P.H. Kurien said.
