HYDERABAD:
A 55-year-old businessman allegedly opened two rounds of fire into the air following a row over giving way to a vehicle at Barkas Bazar in the old city late on Tuesday night.
The Chandrayanagutta police booked a case under section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 27 of the Arms Act against Hussain Zabri and arrested him on Wednesday.
The businessman came to a bakery and parked his car on the roadside.
Sweet shop owner Yunus Misri, 28, who was going to his house in Khajipura of Shalibanda with family members in a four-wheeler, came from behind and honked horn. An argument ensued when the businessman asked him to wait for a few minutes, Chandrayanagutta Inspector K. Uday Bhaskar Reddy said.
Gun seized
In a fit of rage, Mr. Zabri allegedly took out his licensed revolver and opened two rounds into the air triggering panic among locals. The businessman took the gun licence seven years ago saying that he was facing threats to his life from rivals in real estate business.
His licence and weapon were seized.
