Cancer camp

Associates of Intellectual Mission (AIM) Charitable Trust conducted a free cancer screening camp at Sri Venkateswara Higher Secondary School at Appanaickenpalayam panchayat in Sultanpet Union. A press release from the organisation said that around 1,000 people, including women and children, were screened. A two-day blood grouping camp was also organised.

Projects

Inner Wheel Club of Coimbatore is to construct a classroom block at the Anaikatti Tribal Residential School at a cost of Rs. 2 lakhs as part of its service projects.

The club has also contributed funds to train 20 women in making 35 different items out of jute. A sum of Rs. 20,000 will be spent on purchase of raw materials and training tribal women in Anaikatti.

Convocation

Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science will hold its convocation on October 8. Vice-Chancellor of Bharathiar University, S. Sivasubramanian, will deliver the convocation address, a press release from the college said.
