Funds for projects in Telangana sought

HYDERABAD:
Andhra Pradesh has requested the Union Government to treat all new projects of Telangana based on the Godavari as national projects in view of the regions' backwardness. It sought Rs. 25,000 crores accordingly to expedite implementation of these projects. The projects include Pranahita-Chevella link, Devadula III, IV and V, Dummagudem, Yellampalli and Singareddypalli.
An official delegation led by Chief Secretary T. K. Dewan and consisting of S.P. Tucker , Principal Seecretary, Education and A. Raghottama Rao, the Chief Commissioner, Land Administration submitted a memorandum to the Union Cabinet Secretary at Delhi on Wednesday. The delegation also sought steps by the Union Government to expedite sanction of Rs. 3,000 crores from World Bank to undertake modernisation of Krishna Delta and Nagarjunsagar canals.
