The columns show maximum and minimum temperature in Celsius, rainfall during last 24 hours (tr-trace) and total rainfall in mm since October 1, 2005. Karur gets 5 cm rain CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at a few places over south interior Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, coastal and north interior Karnataka, Telangana and Rayalaseema and mainly dry weather prevailed over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep. The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres are: Karur 5, Mayanur (Karur dt.) 4, Bhavani (Erode dt.), Thenkasi (Tirunelveli dt) and Perinthalamanna (Malapuram dt.) 2 each and Sankaridurg (Salem dt.), Erode, Bangalore and Sira (Tumkur dt.) 1 each. On Wednesday, the maximum temperature rose appreciably at one or two places over Kerala rose at one or two places over north interior Karnataka, fell appreciably at one or two places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, fell at one or two places over Rayalaseema and changed little elsewhere.They were moderately to appreciably above normal at many places over south coastal Andhra Pradesh, appreciably above normal at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Telangana, at one or two places over coastal Karnataka, south interior Karnataka, Kerala, above normal at a few places over rest of Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka, at one or two places over Telangana, Rayalaseema, rest of Kerala and were generally normal over rest of the region. Ongole and Nellore recorded the highest maximum temperature of 38{+o} Celsius. Minimum temperature rose at one or two places over Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Forecast (valid until Saturday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Telangana.
