ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has said it would consider extradition of the captured spokesman of the Taliban regime if there were a formal request from Afghanistan. Abdul Latif Hakimi was arrested by Pakistani forces from Quetta, capital of Balochistan. Within hours after the news Afghan President Hamid Karzai sought his extradition. "We have not received any request from Afghanistan for the extradition of Hakimi. We will consider the matter when the request is made," spokesperson of Pakistan Foreign Office said. Pakistani officials have said after arresting Hakimi that they would like to interrogate him first to uncover his network and links here. Arrest of Hakimi from Quetta is a cause of embarrassment for Islamabad in the face of charges from Afghanistan about infiltration from Pakistan.
