KRISHNAGIRI: In view of Deepavali, Khadi Village and Industries Board will offer a 30 per cent discount on khadi and other handloom products. In a statement issued here on Thursday, the District Revenue Officer D. Sundaram said that temporary khadi outlets were opened in the panchayats unions of Krishnagiri, Hosur, Veppanapalli, Shoolagiri, Bargur, Mathur, Uthangkarai, Kelamangalam and Thally. The outlets would be open till October 31 and would offer 30 per cent discount on khadi products and polyester clothes, 30 per cent on cash purchase of silk sarees and 20 per cent for purchase of silk sarees on loan. A sum of Rs. 35 lakhs was fixed as target for the festival. The main objective of the fair was to sustain the livelihood of the weavers, the statement said.
