Haryana will get several projects, says Hooda

KARNAL: Emphasising that Haryana had received as much as Rs 2,000 crores during the last six months in investment proposals, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Thursday announced a slew of development and welfare projects for the State.

Addressing a function here, Mr. Hooda said since Model Code of Conduct was in effect, his government was unable to execute much development work in the State for the last four months.

He also assured retrenched employees of Minor Irrigation and Tubwell Corporation, who submitted a memorandum to him, of constituting a committee to look into the matter. The employees raised slogans against the Chief Minister on his arrival at the PWD Rest House here.

``During the last Assembly elections, Mr. Hooda had assured us that we would be taken back into service if the Congress government came into power, but nothing has been done so far to mitigate our sufferings,'' a retrenched MITC employee alleged. -- PTI
