KOCHI: The host Nava Nirman Public School defeated Bhavan's Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara, 39-33 and won the first CBSE all-Kerala inter-school junior basketball tournament at Vazhakkala. Chinmaya Vidyalaya (Ernakulam) defeated CKMNSS (Chalakudy) 20-6 and finished third. Prince Chandy, Assistant Commissioner of Customs, Kochi gave away the prizes. The results: Final: Nava Nirman, Vazhakkala bt Bhavan's Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara 39-33. For third place: Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Ernakulam bt CKMNSS, Chalakudy 20-6. Semifinals: Nava Nirman bt CKMNSS, Chalakudy 38-11; Bhavan's Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara bt Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Ernakulam 34-11.
