Katju shifted

NEW DELHI:
The President, after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, has transferred Chief Justice of the Madras High Court Markandeya Katju as Delhi High Court Chief Justice. He has been directed to assume charge on or before October 20.
Mr. Justice Katju (58) was enrolled as an advocate in 1968 and practised in labour, taxation and writ matters in the Allahabad High Court. He was appointed permanent judge of the Allahabad High Court on November 30, 1991, and was elevated as Chief Justice of the Madras High Court in November 2004 to succeed Justice B. Subhashan Reddy.
The acting Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, B.A. Khan, has been transferred and posted as a Judge of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court. He has been directed to assume charge on or before October 19.
