BANGALORE: Mayor R. Narayanaswamy on Wednesday inaugurated several development work at Ganesh Mandir ward. At a function organised by the BMP in Bhavaninagar, Banashankari II Stage, the Mayor gave away sewing machines to 58 beneficiaries, who were trained in the BMP's tailoring centres in the ward in the last two years. He inaugurated work on upgrading the Kadrenahalli Park at a cost of Rs. 20 lakhs, construction of Ambedkar Bhavan at a cost of Rs. 10 lakhs, upgrading roads in and around the Vijaya College slum at a cost of Rs. 10 lakhs and construction of three classrooms in a school building at Bhavaninagar. According to area corporator A.H. Basavaraju, the Mayor gave three autorickshaws to beneficiaries, driving licences to youth trained by the BMP's driving schools, tricycles to 11 disabled persons and asbestos sheets to 29 families.
