Tragedy piles on
Call it fate or coincidence but tragedy continues to haunt the Gulf Oil Corporation Limited factory (erstwhile Indian Detonators Limited). If it was a powerful explosion that killed nine workers in 2003, property worth over Rs. 10 lakh was gutted in 2004.
Just when they thought everything was going fine came another bolt from the blue in the form of an accident on Tuesday that killed a worker and resulted in burns to three others.
Incidentally, Inspector P. Radha Kishan Rao and his party were going to the IDL to collect some documents pertaining to the 2003 explosion. They reached the main gate only to see injured workers being rushed to the hospital. Putting aside their work, the police too joined rescue operations.
