Kharge inaugurates automobile exhibition

Rs. 1.1-crore BMW 7 series steals the show

BANGALORE: Vaahan Yatra, an automobile exhibition, began at the Palace Grounds here with the Rs. 1.1-crore BMW 7 Series stealing the show on Friday.

Water Resources and Transport Minister M. Mallikarjun Kharge inaugurated the exhibition-cum-sale event.

Leading national and international companies in the automobile business, including BMW, Skoda, TVS Motors, Maruti Udyog and Tata Motors, are among the 50 companies showcasing their products. Different models of two-wheelers and cars are on display.

Designed to play loud, play hard and sound great, car audio systems have made their appearance with national and international companies such as Rockford Fosgate, Polk Audio, Panasonic, JBL, MB quartz and Lighting Audio displaying their products.

Skoda's new variants

Skoda's new variants — Skoda Combi and Skoda RS — were launched at the event.

Yet another attraction is the aircraft from the U.S.-based Indus Aviations Inc. available at a package deal of Rs. 40.80 lakhs, including licence, six months training and DGCA clearance.

Yatra Exhibits Private Limited CEO, Abhijit Shilotri, told presspersons that this was the fourth year the company was organising the event in the city.

An all-terrain vehicle called the Roadster has been launched by Chinkara Motors from Alibaugh, Maharashtra. Also on display is the sports car, "Speedster".

The event will also host the DB Drag Racing Contest in which 100 cars will participate.
