PONDICHERRY: A twelve-day annual camp for the National Cadet Corps is underway at the Government Tagore Arts College, Lawspet. The training programme includes lectures, drills and firing practice. Lt. Col. A.S. Narayan, Commanding Officer of 1(P) Indep Coy, said 480 boys and 160 girls from different schools and colleges in Pondicherry, Mahe and Yanam as well as the Army's NCC wing were participating. The camp aimed at infusing team spirit and leadership qualities in the cadets. The cadets would gain special qualifications to appear in the examinations for the award of A B and C certificates. The certificates would help the cadets in getting job placements.
