Water release

CHENNAI: The State Government on Friday directed release of water from the Varadhamanadhi dam in Dindigul district and Chinnar reservoir in Dharmapuri district to irrigate a total of 9,703 acres.

In a statement here, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa said the water level in Varadhamanadhi dam in Palani taluk was 111 mcft. Water level in the Chinnar reservoir in Palacode taluk was 500 mcft. Water would be released to the new and old ayacuts.
