RTC staff seek DA

HYDERABAD:
Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) Staff and Workers' Federation has demanded immediate payment of dearness allowance due from July, as also 50 per cent of the 2004 backlog leave encashment.
In a representation to Managing Director M.V. Krishna Rao the newly-elected office-bearers urged the management to treat only September 29 as absence by the night duty employees on account of the general strike and to treat the previous day as present.
They called for steps to halt transfer of staff and stopping of services so as to dispel fears of closure of the Gannavaram depot. According to a press release, Mr. Rao agreed to look into the demands.
