SANGAREDDY: Even as the police arrested Town Congress BC cell vice-president for allegedly assaulting Municipal Commissioner, vigilance raids targeting TDP councillors and municipal chairman since midnight on Friday further vitiated the atmosphere in Medak town. Assistant engineer of Transco conducted raids on houses of chairperson Batti Jagapathi and councillors - Chinta Narsimhulu and Sulochana of the TDP - and Lakshmi of the TRS who voted for the TDP. TDP leaders alleged that one department or the other was targeting them without any valid reason. Speaking to reporters, Mr. Jagapathi said that he had always paid his power bills on time. He would bring the matter to the notice of Superintendent of Police B.L. Sujatha Rao.
