`Black day' to be observed

Staff Reporter

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The working committee of the All India News Paper Employees' Federation has decided to observe November 7 as a `Black Day' in protest against the delay shown by the Central Government in setting a wage board for those in the newspaper industry. A press note issued here today said the Union Labour Minister had announced six months ago that a wage board would be constituted immediately. The committee registered its protest against the lack of enthusiasm of the Centre in implementing this promise. This inertia cannot be tolerated any longer, the committee felt.
