Mumbai: Alan Hurst of Australia has been named the ICC match referee for the seven-match One-Day International cricket series against Sri Lanka starting on October 25. Former West Indies captain Clive Lloyd would be the match referee for the three-Test series between the two teams in December, the International Cricket Council said in a media release. The second match of the Test series, scheduled to start on December 12, will be Lloyd's 50th as a match referee in a career spanning 13 years. His first match in the role was between South Africa and India in Durban in November 1992, South Africa's first home Test following isolation. New Zealand's Billy Bowden would be the ICC Elite Panel on-field umpire for the first four ODIs Nagpur (Oct. 25), Mohali (Oct. 28), Jaipur (Oct. 31) and Pune (Nov. 3). England's Mark Benson would be the umpire for the last three ODIs at Ahmedabad (day/night, Nov. 6), Rajkot (Nov. 9) and Vadodara (Nov. 12). The Indian umpiresfor the ODIs: First: K. Hariharan (on-field) and I. Shivram (third). Second: A.V. Jayaprakash and Shivram. Third: Hariharan and Jayaprakash. Fourth: Jayaprakash and Shivram. Fifth: Hariharan and Shivram.
