VISAKHAPATNAM: The mortal remains of the Army jawans -- Chinna Danayya of Border Roads and Paidi Koteswara Rao, a sepoy of 328 Fd. Ambulance, who were killed in an earthquake that shook Uri on Saturday -- arrived here on Wednesday.
The bodies of the jawans were flown to Visakhapatnam by Indian Airlines flight from New Delhi. On arrival, rich tributes were paid to them.
While Chinna Danayya was a resident of Yelamanchili in Visakhapatnam district, Paidi Koteswara Rao hailed from Srikakulam. Full State honours were accorded to the mortal remains of the jawans at INS Dega. Wreaths were placed as a mark of respect to the deceased while a ceremonial guard of the Navy performed the solemn drill of `shok shastra' -- sounding of Last Post followed by two minutes silence.
