India ready to send more aid
Diplomatic Correspondent
NEW DELHI:
: The Government of India stands ready to send more assistance to the earthquake victims in Pakistan. An Indian Air Force IL-76 aircraft, carrying 25 tonnes of relief material, landed in Islamabad on Wednesday morning.
Senior officials told this correspondent that India and Pakistan were in touch with each other on the issue of assistance and relief following the October 8 earthquake. Additional consignments of assistance would be sent after Pakistan indicated its requirements.
The officials made it clear that as far as India was concerned there was no problem in sending more consignments of relief material. India was not planning to make any monetary contribution for the Pakistani quake victims, they said.
