IN GLORY: Teppotsavam of Goddess Durga on the Godavari on Wednesday night.
RAJAHMUNDRY: Vijayadasami festival was celebrated in the city with religious fervour. Special poojas were performed in many temples and special mantapams erected.
Special attraction
At Devi Chowk, special pooja was done by Vedic pandits and about 1008 couples performed Sahasra Pooja to goddess Durga. People from different parts of the city and the district had a darshan of the presiding deity from early hours of Wednesday. Colourful rally followed by Teppotsavam was the special attraction organised by the Timber Merchants Association. Chandi Homam and Poornahuti were done at a specially erected pandal in timber merchants yard. Kumkum pooja was performed at Bhargav community hall in Lalithanagar, organized by City Brahmin Seva Sangham. Panchamrutha Abhishekams and special poojas were performed at Gayatri Pragnapeetam in Annapoornammapeta. Srichakra Navarchana, Semi pooja and Sowbhagya Kumkuma pooja were done at Sri Sarada Peetam. Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Maha Samadhi ceremony was observed in Saibaba temples.
