Low-pressure area persists

VISAKHAPATNAM: North-east monsoon rain commenced on Wednesday over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Tuesday's low-pressure area over south-west Bay and adjoining Tamil Nadu coast persists, according to Cyclone Warning Centre.

Under its influence, rain or thundershowers are likely at many places over coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 24 hours.

Isolated rather heavy rain is also likely over coastal Andhra Pradesh during the same period, the bulletin added.
