Mahajan for collective decision-making

NEW DELHI: NEW DELHI: In a veiled criticism of the outgoing party chief L.K. Advani, senior BJP leader Pramod Mahajan on Wednesday said discipline could be brought back to the party if all decisions are taken collectively.

He also appeared to have reservations over Mr. Advani's critical remarks of the RSS at the Chennai national executive. Mr. Advani had said that bringing the RSS-BJP ties into the public domain "is not going to help."

Terming as "unprecedented," the questioning of the party leadership by members, the party general secretary said: "Under such circumstances, the only option left is to do as a collective leadership. That is, the general secretaries, a few of the vice-presidents should sit together and take all decisions collectively.

`Discipline can be

brought back'

``I think by doing that slowly the organisation can be toned up and discipline can be brought back''. ``Previously, we used to take collective decisions. But slowly, as I said, some top leaders took some individual decisions.

In the BJP, we don't need Bhagwan Sri Krishna to come and solve our problems. All we need is a team effort'', Mr. Mahajan told `NDTV'. — PTI
