CUDDALORE: Members of the Pattali Mahalir Sangham, Tamil Nadu Women Protection Movement, and the Tamil Nadu Women's Cultural Protection Movement took out a rally here on Thursday decrying the indecent portrayal of women in cinema and TV serials. They said their ire was mainly directed towards the film actress Kushboo whose alleged comments in a magazine on the modesty of Tamil women had created a furore among them. The rally that started at Manjakuppam clock tower wound its way to the Collectorate where a dharna was staged. Addressing the gathering, T.Velmurugan, Panruti MLA and deputy general secretary of the Pattali Makkal Katchi, voiced concern over the disgraceful manner in which women were being portrayed in movies and on television.
