Rs 2.75 crores for road improvement

PONDICHERRY: The Union Shipping, Road Transport and Highways Ministry has sanctioned Rs 2.75 crores for the road improvement scheme of Pondicherry, according to PMK parliamentary party leader M.Ramadoss.

He said in a release here on Thursday that the Union Shipping and Road Transport and Highways Minister Minister, T.R. Baalu had informed him through an official communication on September 30 that the fund had been released for conversion of the road between Murungapakkam and Villianoor into National Highways 45-A and the amount had been approved under the Central Road Fund scheme.

Mr.Ramadoss said that the sanction was a boon to the people of Pondicherry.
