GULBARGA: Rashtra Bandhu, an all India non-governmental organisations' federation, has taken up a programme of spreading the importance of rainwater harvesting and improving groundwater resources to overcome the drinking water shortage, through a motorcycle rally throughout the State.

The rally was flagged off by Governor T.N. Chaturvedi on October 2. It will enter Gulbarga district on Friday and pass through Jewargi, Gulbarga and Aland taluks. Consultant of Rashtra Bandhu Daniel J. Christopher told presspersons here that the rally proposes to cover 80 taluks in all the districts.
