Nine firms show interest in Haryana's `Vision Document'

Financial and technical bids made to Government for appointment as consultant

    CHANDIGARH: Nine reputed firms have tendered financial and technical bids to the Haryana Government for appointment as a consultant for development of "Vision Document" for the State. The firms are AF Ferguson and Co., Deloitte India, Crisil Infrastructure Advisory, AT Kearney, Astra Consultancy Services, Tata Consultancy Services, Price Waterhouse Coopers, MDP Consultants, Ernst and Young and Datamation Research Analyst/Datamation Consultants. According to an official spokesman here, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, his Cabinet colleagues, Kartar Devi, Ajay Singh Yadav, Phool Chand Mullana, and senior officers including the Chief Secretary, G. Madhwan, and the Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, M.L.Tayal, watched the presentations made by some of the firms here on Thursday.

    Overall development

    Immediately after becoming Chief Minister, Mr. Hooda had desired to get a Vision Document for the State formulated to ensure accelerated overall development to make it the number one State in the country.

    He had directed the administrative secretaries of all departments to prepare and submit their respective vision documents to him.

    The Government had also invited bids from prominent firms for appointment as consultant.

    The spokesman added that it had been decided that the broad vision of the State would include the areas of finance, infrastructure development like roads, power and port telecommunications, information technology, health, family welfare and women and child development, social sectors, agriculture and irrigation, industries, environment, human resources development, community development and services, leisure and tourism. The consultant would also prepare a reform programme for key sectors and oversee its implementation.
