AYODHYA: TheUttar Pradesh Government would release additional 200 cusecs of water to Delhi. The U.P. Irrigation Minister, Munna Singh Chauhan, told UNI here on Thursday. The water would be released from Hathini Kund Barrage on the Yamuna river. He said at present 800 cusecs of water from the Ganga river was being supplied to the national Capital. ``A meeting between U.P. Chief Secretary and Irrigation Principal Secretary would be held with the Delhi Government officials in the national Capital on Friday,'' he informed. However, the Minister maintained it would be ensured that the State's farmers faced no hardships following the release of additional water to Delhi. Meanwhile, the work on desilting of canals had further gained momentum in the State. UNI
