To encourage healthy competition

Taj Garden Retreat, in association with Bethshan Educational and Social Service Team Trust, organised district-level competitions for mentally disabled students on October 10 as part of the hotel's community initiative. Students from 10 special schools participated in the painting, carrom and quiz competitions. The competitors were divided into three groups: children between 8 and 11 years were classified as juniors, those between 12 and 15 years were classified as seniors and those above 16 were put in the masters group. The juniors participated in the painting competitions while the seniors vied for honours in the carom competition. A quiz programme was conducted for students in the masters group.

Attractive prizes were distributed to the winners. The Teddy Day Care Centre, Tirumangalam, bagged the best performance award. Certificates were distributed to all the participants.
