New scheme for women

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Government has drawn up a new women oriented programme, Kudumba Sangamom, as an extension of the Kudumbasree programme.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy told media persons after the Cabinet meeting on Thurday that the programme will not be confined to families living below the poverty line. It would a programme for overall socio-economic development of women.

Dr. Sharmila Mary Joseph, who would be appointed Director of Modernising Government Programme, will also be the implementing officer for the programme.
